Back in the Saddle

I am back to blogging! Can you tell from my title that I am loving my Pioneer Woman Cookbook that I got for Christmas?! It is the best! I dream of chaps and biscuits now...

The past month has honestly been a whirl, thus, my extended absence from blogging. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, I will catch you up with a lovely montage of the last three weeks!

Three weeks ago, D.C. got a record-breaking snowstorm that left D and I housebound for days!

This is how D kept busy during the storm. That's right, he is shoveling while it is still snowing. When I asked him why he said he would rather shovel 7 inches of snow three times than 21 inches once. Hmm....

This is how I kept busy... Taking pictures of Dundee!

He liked to curl up amoung all the snowclothes and boots!

Then, a short week later, we had D's entire family over for Christmas Dinner! Again, it was a whirl, but everyone seemed to have a great time.

Here is the kitchen, primed for action! We had to put a board over the sink to make room for food (and there was more food than I have ever seen in my life!!). I thought the board looked ugly though, so I wrapped it in Christmas paper!

Drink station...help yourself!

D in front of the Christmas tree in our tiny living room. In mere minutes it was filled with hoards of guests...very crowded, but very fun!

Then, the next day, we flew down to Jupiter, Florida for Christmas and a vacation with my family!

One of the highlights of the trip was D's birthday gift, which was a "dolphin experience" in the Florida Keys.
Here we are in our oh-so flattering wetsuits! hee hee

The dolphins gave us kisses in the end. D loved it!

Then, we had my birthday (more on that later), New Years, and our crazy trip back home!
It has taken me awhile to get settled back into my routine, and like everyone, I am trying to adopt some better habits this year. I will keep you posted!
I hope you make today a happy day!
