A New Favorite

I have discovered something at my local Target that is very, very dangerous. Pepperidge Farm now makes the beloved Australian cookie, Tim Tams (Or maybe I just noticed it recently). Our whole house is now in love with the Tim Tam, and a box of these cookies doesn't last more than a weekend. I have only tried the caramel flavor but I am sure the chocolate creme is amazing too.

Two Speeds

Life has felt pretty crazy lately. The past several weeks can be summed up in two words: nesting and napping.

I realized that I seem to only move at two speeds lately. First, I run around like a chicken without a head. Spring cleaning, purging closets, making lists, shopping (then, realizing "what was I thinking??" and returning half the things I buy) and after all that, I....

crash!

It is a strange feeling, and I am not sure I can completely blame it on being pregnant. I think I have been waiting for spring for so long, and now that it is here (mostly) there is so much I want to do and get done!

I think if I moved at a moderate pace with some of these projects, I would feel less overwhelmed and actually get more done. Whole living has a great snippet of an article on "Spring Cleaning Your Life." I could definitely use some help!

Back from Paradise

This past weekend, I flew down to Florida (my last flight for awhile. how strange!) for my first baby shower! My amazing aunts threw me and baby girl a shower in Florida and it was so much fun to see everyone and enjoy the warm weather. I even went swimming with my big pregnant belly! It was a wonderful weekend!

While I was away, D painted the nursery and it is starting to take shape. Now that I have cleared the room of most of the junk and it is painted, the fun part can begin--adding the sweet decorative touches. I will post more pictures soon!

Life is Good

Yesterday I got a mani/pedi after a pretty long day and all was right with the world again.

I think I might have found my new favorite spring/summer shade of nail polish.

Essie "Flirt"

Essie's website calls it "a sexy hot pink-orange" which makes it sound a little loud, but I love it!

Right now my short, bright little nails make typing on my keyboard at work almost fun.

And Speaking of Romance...

I can't stop thinking about Katy Perry's romantic Grammy performance. The video clips of her wedding in India projected on the shimmery background were absolutely magical. I have a feeling I will downloading that ballad she sang very soon.

D and I have had a change of heart, and over Valentine's Day dinner, we decided to take a short "babymoon" to someplace nearby. We just want to relax, eat good food, and enjoy being a couple before our daughter comes. I am getting excited!

Lazy Girl's Guide to Valentine's Day

I really love Valentine's Day (I mean, the official color of the day is PINK!), but this year, I feel a bit too tired (and pregnant) to celebrate properly.

In my own head, I have made heart-shaped cupcakes and cookies and crafted perfect cards for everyone I love. In reality, I have taken a much more laid-back approach...

I brought some adorable doughnuts for my friends at work (they weren't really expecting cards anyway) and to bring to team meetings (sugar does amazing things for morale).

Then, tonight we are going to do Valentine's Dinner at home, catered by Whole Foods. (Much better than a fancy restaurant when you are feeling tired)

I have managed to pick up a few cards and treats for hubs and my sister. These gifts, of course, are not wrapped or nicely displayed, but I have made peace with this being a "lazy Valentine's day."

However you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful day!
