The Great Shape Up

I LOVE this quote from the great Sophia Loren -

“Everything you see I owe to spaghetti.”

Haha, classic! We actually saw the balcony of her apartment in Rome which was a thrill!
Unfortunately, I am not like the great actress because, for me, seven days of eating pasta and drinking wine has been the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as getting in shape.
Yesterday I realized that I completely stopped exercising after we moved into our new house. My rationale was that all the lifting, unpacking, and working in the yard was my exercise which was true…to a point…but let’s face it, I haven’t moved a box in months and I haven’t seen the inside of the gym either. I also have had more pumpkin spice lattes, miller lights, and decadent meals than I care to count. Hmm…

This wouldn’t be a huge problem except that my best friend’s wedding is in less than one month. Call me vain, but I would like to fit into my bridesmaid dress and also look good in the pictures. I need help!

SO, this month is my GREAT SHAPE UP! I figure a month of eating healthy and exercising will work wonders. I am getting to know the gym at work and the salad bar in the cafeteria again. I went to the gym yesterday and envisioned Jillian yelling at me, and I swear it helped me run an extra mile (crazy, I know, but it worked, she terrifies me!!). Being healthy is not as much fun as watching TV and eating pizza, but I think feeling and looking better will be worth it.

Thank you to all the bloggers who post healthy recipes, you have no idea how much that helps me!!

I hope you have a great day!

Go out and buy Jillian's 30 Day Shred. She will kick your a$$ for 20 straight minutes. The only thing you need is light weights.
