San Francisco Photos

Thank you so much for the wonderful recommendations for San Francisco! I had never been to the city before, and let me tell you, San Francisco didn't disappoint!
The work part of the week was pretty tough, so I was really glad I decided to stay out there afterwards to really enjoy the city. My sister flew in on Thursday evening, and we had so much fun!
The first thing we did when she got in was go down to Pier 39 to see the sea lions! Coming from the east coast, we had never seen anything like them! Also, they are like nature's comedians...hooting and hollering, fighting and sprawled all over! I could have watched them forever! Also, while at the wharf, we stopped by Boudin's to see the amazing sourdough sculptures and had some amazing crabs at the Crab House!

This is a photo of me being SO happy that work was over and my sister had arrived. (Also, I was in the trench all weekend due to rain!)

On Friday, my sister and I went outside the city for a day trip to Muir Woods (to see the amazing Redwoods trees!) and Sonoma (wine country) for some wine tastings. The company we used, Incredible Adventures, was great! It was a small tour bus, run on biodiesel fuel to keep the environmental impact down. Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgable!

Again, the trench! My sister and I inside a Redwood Tree! Muir Woods was so breathtakingly beautiful!

Sonoma was amazing!! We went to three vineyards; two of which were very small so it was fun to get to meet the wine makers. My sister and I had lunch in the town of Sonoma at a restaurant called The Girl and The Fig. Great drinks, great cheese, mussels, fruit...the works! I honestly think more vacations to Sonoma and Napa are in my future!

The rest of the weekend, my sister and I just explored the city. We walked and walked and walked, but I was so happy that we got to see so many of the famous neighborhoods...the mission, the castro, noe valley, Soma, Union Square, the Wharf and the list goes on!!

Thank you again for your recommendations!
