I am really trying to commit to my health. In fact, this weekend my sister and I made a pact to truly work at this for the next few months. To try to kick start things, I am trying to avoid sugar, alcohol and fried foods for the next couple of weeks. However, as I was sucking down my second Diet Dr. Pepper this afternoon, I started to wonder about artificial sweeteners...
On one hand, when you are trying to avoid real sugar, a Splenda in your coffee or a Coke Zero in the afternoon really can pick things up.
On the other hand, I keep reading these articles that say that artificial sweeteners can sabotage your health goals and make you GAIN weight. Hmm…I am torn. Any thoughts?

I don't really use artifical anything (fat free, low calorie, etc). If I am going to eat something, I just eat the it in it's natural state - regular sugar, heavy cream, full fat cheese, etc. I do use honey in place of sugar in hot tea though.
Good luck with your healthy changes!
