Sunday Night Blues

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend!!! D and I had a great time in Williamsburg; it definitely felt like vacation. So much so that last night I was hit hard by what I call, “the Sunday Night Blues.”

My sister and I coined this term as kids. We’d get the blues every time we realized the weekend was over and it was time to go back to school the next day. And even now, after a long, fun weekend or faced with the prospect of an intense week at work, I get the Sunday night blues all over again!!

To make matters even worse, I have a husband who doesn’t understand these terrible blues at all! Last night, as I was slumped onto the couch, muttering into my glass of pinot grigio, he was happily bustling around the apartment, tidying up, whistling, and even breaking into song from time to time!! In my most pitiful voice, I would tell him, "I don't waaanntt to go to wooorrrkk!!" but he just cheerfully continued getting ready for the week; doing all sorts of useful things like laying out his clothes, packing his gym bag, shining his shoes, etc….I tell you, its just not normal!!

I used to have my guilty pleasure, the Real Housewives of NY and NJ for comfort on Sunday nights, and now I don’t know what to do. How do you combat the Sunday night blues?

Oh, I love that photo! My own Pug & I looked much like that (obvs not as cute, in my case) last night with our own set of blues. I usually address it via ice cream - for me, that is, the Pug is on his own.

Oh sister, we all know the Sunday night blues. I hate when they hit. Once they hit, there is simply no going back. Glad you did okay last night. Haha. Happy week to you.

Haha--that was me last night. It nearly killed me to get up this morning for work after being on vacation! :)

I love the boo boo eyed pug photo. I'm off for the summer (sorry), so I'm not experiencing the blues right now, but during the school year, I know exactly what you mean.

Oh..I know just how you feel! Sunday nights are just painful! I live for the weekends! My friend and I always get together on Tuesdays and this seems to break up the week for me and gives me something to look forward to! It's just not fair that we have to work!!! Love the photo~
