House Hunters!

It seems like overnight, my life has taken a dramatic turn. Several weeks ago, D and I made the huge decision to start looking for houses to buy, and now we have become…House Hunters!!
Yes, we are contemplating diving into the always-exciting Northern Virginia housing market. And by “contemplating,” I mean obsessively driving around neighborhoods, hounding our realtor day-and-night, making budgets, typing numbers into mortgage calculators, and scrolling through listings online all.day.long…we are hooked!!! It is exciting though, and we have already seen a few “possibility” homes!

Also, the best thing about this new development is that my HOURS and DAYS of watching HGTV have finally paid off! As we walk through homes, I nod my head sagely and murmur things like “curb appeal” “turn-key” and “sweat equity.” Let me tell you, D and our realtor are very impressed!!! Hee hee

We are going out to look for houses again this weekend, so wish us luck!!

I hope you find your dream home.

My sister's former condo was featured in the HGTV House Hunters show a few months ago. Her buyer was selling it. They really played up the built-in bookcases my sister installed. Sadly, it wasn't chosen, but it was a great DC condo.

Well, I hope you're not one of those 22 year old couples with "a budget of only $850,000!" :) Happy house hunting - do you get to hang out wit Suzanne Wong?!

I remember the days...fun! Good thing you've done your HGTV studying. We were clueless! Piece of weird advice? Be picky about plumbing :)

My husband and I are looking too...but we get frustrated with the fact that almost every place we look at has multiple offers. It gets SO annoying!

We've been driving around neighborhoods we'd like to live in. It's fun!

All the best of luck to you sweetie!! I hope you find the house of your dreams!

My hubby and I have been looking for the past few months and I think I looked at so many houses that I feel physically ill...we're just not seeing what we want, but I know it's out there....and we'll find it when we're supposed to..: )
