Party for One

D left yesterday for his pilgrimage to the Master’s Tournament in Georgia. He was so excited to be going, and it also means that I have the apartment to myself for two nights. Of course, I miss D whenever he leaves, but I was a little excited to have sole possession of the remote control and to structure the evening just as I wanted. What would you do if you had a whole evening to yourself to do whatever you wanted?

First, I went and got my eyebrows done which was so lovely because I normally do them myself. Then, I got home and completely ignored the piles of clothes, bills and dishes and made myself a lovely dinner. I steamed some shrimp in beer (poured a third of a bottle of Blue Moon in the pot and the other two thirds in a glass for me!) and served it over some Trader Joe’s frozen pasta (so easy, so good!). I then ate my meal on nice china in front of a Real Housewives of NYC marathon on Bravo!!

I also did a little work, took a bath, and just relaxed! It was a fun party for one if I do say so myself! Now I just have to think about what to do tonight…

P.S. I was a little sad after watching the new Housewives episode last night. I know he is reviled by everyone, but it really seemed like Simon was trying hard and being a really good sport at the tennis match. I guess I just know what it is like to not be “athletically inclined.” Hee hee

Those kinds of nights are really fun! When my guy isn't home, I definitely watch all the Bravo and TLC shows that I love and that he can't stand. I usually try to go to the gym and make easy, yummy dinners (admittedly, my meals don't really compare to your shrimp....it's more like quesadillas or pasta for me) Plus, the eyebrow pampering must have been fun too (I've never done it...though my brows could probably use it). I'm definitely jealous that your husband's at the Masters....one of these years I really want to get down there to see the tourney in person!!

Ha, TRDH of NYC were funny funny last night. And, my jaw DROPPED when LuAnn told the precious little girl (at the self-esteem-boosting meeting) she would be a great model ... if she could loose a few lbs. OMG!!! Hope D enjoys the Masters, there isn't a better tourney!!! Xoxo-BLC

Sounds liek a lovely evening! I made my husband sit through last week's DVRd episode of Real Houswives - he was less than thrilled!

Alone nights in are so crucial. A little eating, a little drinking, a little watching of the tv or movies I can never get the AH to watch. Love it.

That shrimp sounds so good and I love blue moon. Add an orange slice in there and it is a little bit of heaven!

I love my my husband goes away like that! The interesting thing is I pretty much do the same stuff when he's around as when he's gone, but somehow it feels more decadent, lol.

I love a night to myself at home (except for sleeping alone in our place, I don't sleep well when my honey isn't home) and watch lots of TLC and definitely the Real Housewives!!!

Don't you just love nights like that? I love to pick up the house (my husband is bad messy) and get in bed early with a magazines and a chick flick.
