I had an amazing weekend in NYC, and I made several discoveries that I will share soon. However, something even more wonderful occurred when I arrived home late last night. When I walked into the apartment, I noticed that it was quite pristine (I knew what I was doing by marrying a man who likes to clean!)

I walked into the bedroom, and D had lit up the room with candles and put an ivory ribbon bow on the door to my closet. I opened it up and couldn’t believe my eyes. D had gone to an organizing store and turned my closet into a work of art! He installed shelves for my shoes, racks for all my sweaters and jeans, and hooks for all my belts and scarves! Everything was folded and organized by color...truly amazing! He must have spent hours doing it as an early anniversary present to me! I always complain how awful my closet is, but I never thought he would do this OR I would ever see a day when I could see all my shoes on display at once!

In addition, he had visited my favorite stomping ground, Tar-Jay, and bought me a fun dress, my favorite bubble bath, a DVD, and a card that made me cry. I couldn’t believe it!

However, the real problem is that we had said that we were not going to do gifts for our anniversary. Then he goes and does this! Our official anniversary is this weekend and I have nothing! Please help!

D loves golf, football, gadgets, watches, and dogs. He is not an easy person to buy things for because, if he wants something, he often just gets it. I am racking my brain, so any suggestions are welcome!

What anniversary is this? Since you are newly wed, I am going to just for the first 3 traditional/modern gifts. This gift guide often helps guide thought I don't believe it needs to be strictly followed.

1st - paper/clock
- Nautucal Chart/Map of the area where you first met/first dated/first lived/
- Clock inscribed with a verse or quote from your wedding for his office desk (check out things remembered - not the most unique, but they are quick seeing how as you need it in 5 days)

2nd - cotton/china
- monogrammed robe
- matching robes
- his favorite slippers/a great snuggle blanket/and a movie he would pick (+ popcorn and or fav candy to make it a "date" gift)
- is he a bbq guy or coffee drinker - get his some tools for this hobby

3rd - leather/glass
- driving gloves, DC will get cool before you know it!
- great wine glasses/tumblers + a high end bottle of the wine/liquor that goes with it!

I hope at the very least this stirs your brain to give you the right idea for your guy!

I am so glad I came across your blog! What a sweet sweet hubby! My friends often joke about me being an "organizational queen" so this closet looks like heaven to me! I need to share this with my husband. :)
